Mey & Edlich | Cologne | Retail
From shipping box to experience store

After more than 20 years without a physical retail presence, Mey & Edlich is back in the city: right in the heart of Ehrenstraße in Cologne. For the brand’s first store, we transformed the concept into furniture across 240 square metres, bringing the fashion brand from the shipping box back into a physical space.

The store concept became a flexible furniture system that does more than simply display clothing. Together with various trades, we developed modular islands and product displays, combining high-quality materials, precise execution and the flexibility to create new product presentations again and again.

A special highlight is the denim area with its glass block look, extending from the wall into the bar counter. Since real glass blocks were not an option due to structural reasons, our team developed a custom solution using metal and laminated clear glass. Even the typical bubbles and textures of the original glass blocks were digitised and made visible.

The brand identity itself can be found throughout the entire store: the Mey & Edlich logo was integrated into product displays, back walls and leather furniture. In our production facility in Stadtlohn, the signet was lasered directly into the leather.

The result is a store that begins where a package ends: a place to discover, try on and come back to.
