The Ahornplatz development, located in the heart of Babelsberg’s famous film district, is a prime example of urban living. The challenge was to bring together three entirely different residential concepts under one roof: from the functional short-stay accommodation of the 168-room Hampton by Hilton to the welcoming, home-like atmosphere of the student apartments. The real achievement lay in delivering these contrasting concepts simultaneously and at scale, without compromising on quality or budget.
The greatest challenge, however, did not take place on paper but at the loading dock. More than 85 fully loaded trucks arrived on site, creating a constant flow of materials that had to be unloaded and installed step by step. Logistics quickly became a genuine bottleneck. With only a single freight elevator available to transport furniture and equipment to the upper floors, the process required absolute precision. The guiding principle was simple: deliver, lift, install. Repeated in an endless cycle that left no room for error.
Through meticulous planning, well-coordinated processes and close collaboration between all project partners, our team maintained full control throughout the entire project. It was a major undertaking, yet one in which the direction was never lost. In March 2025, the final curtain fell: the simultaneous FF&E fit-out of 413 apartments, 168 hotel rooms and the public areas reached its successful conclusion, enabling the Hampton by Hilton to open on schedule.
